The theme for the 2014 IVETA Annual Conference is as follows:

Promoting and Sustaining Effective TVET Partnerships

Successful TVET programs are often leveraged through effective partnerships.  Creating and maintaining effective partnerships takes forethought, energy, and sustained effort.  This year's conference theme, Promoting and Sustaining Effective TVET Partnerships will explore what it takes to realize synergistic partnerships.  Presentations should address one or more of the following aspects of TVET partnerships, or similar topics:

    • Examples of highly effective partnerships (e.g., an example of a partnership between a TVET institution and a business, why it’s highly effective, and how it became an effective partnership)
    • Indicators of synergistic partnerships; how do you know your partnership is  effective?
    • Keys to building, developing and maintaining partnerships
    • Strategies to ensure all partners have a role in the partnership
    • Getting the most from advisory committees

In addition, the 2014 IVETA annual conference will feature a half-day joint session with the Association for Career-Technical Education Research (ACTER).  The theme for the ACTER conference is "CTE in a Changing Environment: Scholarship and Engagement in Secondary and Higher Education."   The theme of the joint session will be "Effective Partnerships between Secondary and Post-secondary TVET Institutions."

Presentations submitted under the following sub theme will be eligible for this joint session:

    • Effective Partnerships between Secondary and Postsecondary TVET Institutions.
