Collectively TVET colleges have about 264 campuses across South Africa with a student population of almost 800,000 students pursuing various vocational education and training careers.

SACPO is comprised of National General Council and a National Office based in Centurion in the Capital City of Tshwane, South Africa.

SACPO has organised, hosted and supported this World TVET Conference 2018 in partnership with IVETA 13-16 August 2018 under the theme “Making Technical and Vocational Education Training the First Choice”.  Organising a successful event of this size with such diverse participation and debate is no mean feat.

The conference has given  SACPO the opportunity to showcase their achievements and milestones as a sector and to create a platform for the  TVET world at large to map a way for making TVET the first choice. They have also supported and promoted IVETA as an international network for the advancement of TVET.

IVETA indeed acknowledges and appreciates their hard work and distinguished service in bringing this successful conference to fruition.  They have genuinely earned this award and have our sincere thanks.

The Joel Magisos Exceptional Service Award is awarded to recognize long-term individual achievement in support of IVETA and its mission and objectives.  Particular attention is placed on activities which include the continuing development and growth of IVETA, (such as membership recruitment, fundraising, organisation of conference programs), work on TVET publications and development of high quality TVET practice. The award honors the contributions to IVETA of Joel Magisos, a sustaining Charter Member.

The JOEL MAGISOS EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE AWARD is awarded to Mrs Ayonmike Chinyere Shirley PhD for her  long-term individual achievement in support of IVETA and its mission and objectives.

Ayonmike, C.S PhD joined IVETA in 2013, and in 2014 she became the Liaison Officer for Nigeria.  As the Liaison Officer she recruited many members through her persistent effort on membership drives. In addition, as the Regional Vice President of IVETA Eastern and Western Africa, Dr Ayonmike was able to link  three international organisations from Malaysia and Italy to Delta State Technical Vocational Education Board.   Furthermore, Dr Ayonmike led the IVETA Team to attend the Business Technical Vocational education and Training (BTVET) Week organised by the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Quality Education (UPF-QE) and it was a fruitful outing to promote IVETA.

As the Regional Vice President of IVETA Eastern and Western Africa, Dr Ayonmike continues to recruit new members to IVETA creating a strong and vibrant professional network of IVETA members in her region.

IVETA very much appreciates Shirley’s extraordinary effort in promoting IVETA in her region with her tireless energy and she is therefore a very worthy recipient in 2018.
